Presentation

The Pain Clinic was established in 1999 by Professeur Sebastian Reiz, previously active in pain medicine in Sweden since the late seventies. By mid 2023, we had seen around 8000 patients in our Clinic.

Since the autumn of 2023, the Pain Clinic is located in its own premises in Pully. Patients in need for hospitalization under the care of Prof. Reiz can chose between the Clinique Bois-Cerf in Lausanne, belonging to the Swiss Hirslanden Group or Clinique CIC in Clarens. An agreement between the Pain Clinic and the cantonal Ministry of Health allows us to hospitalize all Swiss patients, regardless of their type of health insurance cover. Foreign patients that might need hospitalization should consult with their insurers beforehand.The Pain Clinic takes care of patients with chronic pain of all types using an interdisciplinary approach, including minimally invasive techniques and pharmacological therapies according to the most modern standards.

The services offered are highly personalized, with sufficient time given to each patient to satisfy his or her needs. If deemed necessary, the patient’s problems are discussed with highly competent Swiss physicians of other specialties or with internationally renowned pain specialists.
Patients who feel a need to obtain a second opinion facing a decision on a particular pain therapy offered to them (injections, spinal surgery or drug therapy) by other doctors/therapists can contact us via e-mail before sending us the medical documents considered necessary for giving an opinion.

The Pain Clinic in Lausanne is affiliated to all Swiss health insurance companies. The billing is made by La Caisse de Médecins Suisses.
